THE GRID   |   BOOMTOWN FAIR   |   2019
FOUND OBJECTS AND OTHERWORLDLY PLANT FORMATIONS PROVIDE THE ONLY SOURCE OF LIFE AND COMMUNITY IN THIS NEW NETWORKED ARENA 404, CONNECTING THE ROOTS OF SALVAGED GOODS AND HUMANS THROUGH THE VEINS OF NATURE.

GRAPHICS  |   THE GRID'S LOGO IDENTITY IS A BRAINWAVE OF THE 90'S ACID HOUSE MOVEMENT, CAPTURING THE NEW AGE TRAVELLERS, RAVES AND PROTESTS COLLIDING IN A JOYOUS MOVEMENT. THE IDEA WAS TO CREATE A LOGO THAT INHERITED THE ORGANIC SIMPLICITY OF MOTHER NATURE - A LEAF. CONSEQUENTLY, THE VEINS OF THE LEAF ALSO RESEMBLE CHEVRONS AND MORE APPROPRIATELY, IS A NOSTALGIC NOD TO THE STAGE'S CORE CATALYSTS - CREATIVE DIRECTORS ED MCCALF AND CHARLIE DIXON OF ROBOTIKA AND THE LEISURE CENTRE.

SCULPTURES   |   FROM INITIAL LOGO TO HANGING TRINKETS AND PENDULUMS TO LIGHT SCULPTURES, THE DESIGN WAS GIVEN LIFE ON STAGE. OUR EFFORTS TO ADHERE TO THE IDEA OF REGENERATION WAS CREATED BY BUILDING THE SCULPTURES FROM UP-CYCLING FOUND OBJECTS AND MATERIALS. SCULPTURES WERE CREATED IN COLLABORATION WITH SCULPTOR BENEDICT ROMAIN.
